Don’t Get Wrinkles From The Sun
Summer’s coming…so are more wrinkles and cancers! Here’s
how to have your cake and eat it too! Just follow these rules for the best
Tan you’ll ever have…overnight! USE A HIGH QUALITY SUNLESS TANNING
LOTION. It’s so much better and safer for you skin than the sun or any
tanning salon.
Apply a Sunless Tan with gloves, a soft, rounded sponge or both. If not using
gloves, make sure to wash hands with warm soapy water immediately after application.
To prevent unevenness, streaks or splotches follow these rules:
Exfoliate your skin first. A rough washcloth should be fine, a loofah is good
too. This gets rid of the dry, scaly skin that is about to “flake off” anyway,
helps the product to go on evenly and ensures longer wear.
Make sure all oil is removed from your skin as the active ingredient clings
best to a freshly buffed, non-oily surface. (A shower or bath ensures no oil
is left on the skin.)
Give extra attention to exfoliating the areas where dead skin accumulates,
such as knees, elbows, ankles, hands and feet.
To keep knees from soaking up excess tanner, either apply moisturizer to the
knees (then wipe it off) or lightly wipe off excess tanner after applied.
Apply with long firm full strokes, and then rub in circular motion so tanner
blends into the skin better and is streak free.
Always start from your lower body and work your way up. This helps avoid creases
and smudges from bending your body while applying. Cover first the areas between
your ankles and knees…then apply what remains to your feet, ankles and
knee areas that do not need as much tanner. After covering the rest of the
body wipe the excess from the elbows.
Wait about 8 hours after applying tanner before moisturizing the skin or perspiring
from a workout.
If you have dark spots on your skin you don’t want to tan, remove Sunless
Tan with a Q-tip moistened slightly in water. Just twirl the Q-Tip on the dark
spot lightly, making sure not to go outside of the dark area.
If you want a darker tan repeat this process the next day.
