Holiday Makeup
Don’t go off the deep end for your Holiday Makeup look! Your own individual
overall beauty should always be the main focus.
For example, here’s one thing I believe you should not do:
We have all seen female television news reporters wearing so much shiny, glaring
lip-gloss on both top AND bottom lips that we can hardly pay attention to what
they’re saying. I know I don’t “hear” what they’re
saying because I become stuck on, “why doesn’t someone tell her
that her lips are too glaring, greasy looking and distractive.”
These are beautiful women who have upstaged their beauty with greasy, overpowering
lips. Is it the “in” thing to do?….says who?….lip-gloss
manufacturers?…what happened to taste and elegant beauty? THAT is always
in …and always glamorous!
Here’s some information from my “No Mistake Makeup School” to
help in what to do to look your best this Holiday Season:
FALSE EYELASHES FOR THE HOLIDAYS?
You Bet! Try Them…You’ll like them for other occasions too! |
 |
I know. . .you generally don’t wear them because you don’t know
how. . .or which type or color to use. I am the mistress of false eyelashes….I
wear them and have them on in all of my pictures over the past 45 years…can
you tell…NO! I love them! The hardest part is to find the ones that look
natural, flexible, are on a clear plastic strip, not too thick and not too
thin but j-u-s-t right. They provide instant glamour, and are easier to apply
than you might imagine. Make sure you apply mascara on the bottom lashes – this
balances the top and bottom making the false lashes look more natural. In “No
Mistake Makeup School” Eye Makeup Part 1 you will find easy-to-follow
step by step instructions on how to apply false eyelashes. Yes, you can do
it!
HOLIDAY MASCARA
Wear black and an extra coat |
 |
Mascara: Water proof – smudge proof mascara is the best to wear so there
are no mascara smudges by the end of the evening. Wear black and apply 2 to
3 coats…one at a time after each one dries. Don’t forget the bottom
lashes too…that’s a must for the very glamorous Holiday look!

EYE LINER PENCIL
No black…even for the Holidays unless you have dark skin |
No black…even for the Holidays unless you have dark skin I don’t
believe in black eyeliner for anyone except those with a dark tone of skin
of color, otherwise the look is too heavy and hard for one even with lighter
skin color and black hair. You will find the darker brown colors will provide
the same look, but will be more delicate looking. The “lead” of
an eye liner pencil should be like the Goldie Locks story: it must be not too
hard, or too soft…but just right! It must glide over the skin without
pulling it, yet go on easily to give you the best look. This type “lead” would
still be just soft enough so that, instead of having to frequently use a pencil
sharpener to keep it pointed, thus losing part of the pencil each time, you
could firmly pinch (and hold a few seconds) the tip to a point whenever it
gets too blunt, saving the sharpener for only when needed and extending the
life of the pencil. Read more on how to apply Eye Liner for YOUR type eyes
in Eye Makeup Part 2 of "No Mistake Makeup School" Lesson.
EYE SHADOW
For Holiday excitement |
 |
With or without False Eyelashes this is a very glamorous Holiday look.. One
should never wear a bright color or iridescent color that stands out like
a Xmas bulb! It’s the beauty of the entire face that is important…colors
selected should enhance the face, or to change the shape of the eye, or make
them appear larger. A blue, iridescent eyelid will not get the job done!
