Nancy,
at age 64, likes to keep busy…and she is very
busy. She was a corporate person for many years and now
fills her time with social charity work, and is very
successful at it. Once an interior designer, she now
loves traveling with her husband, playing golf, good
food and fashion.
Her
makeup goal is to develop a softer look with a more
youthful
appearance.

Nancy chose Almond
Foundation to smooth and even out
her skin tone, and Highlight
Light to lighten darker areas under
the eyes.
(Yes,
she forgot her earring here) |

Next, Nancy applied Ivory Eye
Shadow on her eyelids and then two
colors of darker Eye Shadow above her eye lids on the
bone area and down and around and half way into the
bottom eyelashs. She applied Moccasin Eye
Shadow first and then Clydesdale Eye
Shadow over it on the outer bone of
the eyelid area only. She likes the two color look and
it works fine for her. Nancy applied Black
Mascara on her top and bottom
lashes.

| Nancy's
eyeliner was softened also. Her before picture
below shows how and where she wore heavy eyeliner
all around her eyes. She wore it on the inside of
her eyelashes next to her eyeball. This always
makes eyes appear smaller and it was not the
softer look she really wanted. (Wearing it next to
her eyeballs often encouraged red eyes, which was
one of her complaints.) She used Dark
Brown Liquid Eyeliner, but
much less of it than before. Brown
Natural Looking False
Eyelashes were added …not that
she needed them, but they made her eyes more
dramatic and stayed within the softer look she was
after. |

Nancy
has naturally good eyebrows but they needed a
softer appearance. She chose to use Antique
Lip Liner Pencil for her
eyebrow makeup using very little of it. Her
eyebrows were softened mostly by applying powder
lightly against the growth of the hair. Look at
the difference... it truly makes her eyebrows look
more natural and softer. You should also notice
how the powder made her skin, in general, look
younger.
Remember
Nancy’s goal was to soften her makeup…her look…and
she certainly has achieved this so far!

Nancy's surprise moment: Most of all I
love my overall softer look, she said…my eyes look
so much more youthful and open…I love it all!

Nancy
came to the shoot with an orange blouse…a challenge for
a choice of rouge and lipstick colors. A hard orange
color on the face is not flattering, so, what to do -
what to do?
Here
is a very orange blouse…how do you blend the very orange
blouse with an acceptable “orange” lipstick and rouge
color that flatters the face? Here’s how we solved the
problem. A natural looking glow was given to her cheeks
using Dusty Mauve
Cream Rouge. It was applied lightly
keeping the color tone down so as not to compete with
the orange blouse. |

To solve the
problem of choosing lipstick that would not clash with
the orange shirt, Apricot
Toast was applied first. Sierra Sand
Lip Liner Pencil was used
next to give a more defined look to her lip line all
around….then the bottom lip was made slightly fuller
using the pencil to balance her fuller top
lip.
Next
the lip pencil was lightly applied over the entire
lipstick to help make the lipstick color blend in more
with the orange shirt, but with a softer look …it
worked!
|
|
Notice
again on the after picture how applying powder on
the skin “camouflaged” and softened the look of
the skin…making it appear “younger.” This in no
camera trick I can assure you! |
|
|
|
Before |
After |
| Unless
your skin is very young, powder does indeed help
to hide many lines or wrinkles. Nancy used Matte
Natural
Powder. | |

“Dear
Oleda,
This
is the softer look I was hoping for. I have not only
learned what to do…but what NOT to do. I went to a
dinner with my new look, and before I could get through
the door my lady friends saw me from a distance …they
knew I looked different and came over to greet me to see
what I had done…they loved it….so do I. Thank you
ever-so-much,
Nancy”
